The WWF estimate that the amount of forest lost per minute is equivalent to 48 football fields.

 

Deforestation comes in many forms, including fires, clear-cutting for agriculture, ranching and development, unsustainable logging for timber, and degradation due to climate change.

 

These artworks allowed me to work with end grains I collected locally, exploring their natural beauty and unique rings. Slice marks from the chain saw used to cut down the tree can still be seen in the prints, as it is presented that even scars in nature cannot be fully healed.
